About PFLAG

Our Vision – PFLAG Westchester celebrates diversity and envisions a society that embraces everyone, including those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Only with respect, dignity and equality for all will we reach our full potential as human beings, individually and collectively. PFLAG Westchester welcomes the participation and support of all who share in and hope to realize this vision.

Our Mission  – PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of members of the LGBTQ+ community, their families, loved ones, and friends, through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal rights. PFLAG Westchester provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender (including gender expression and gender identity), and strives to create a society that is healthy and acknowledges the value of human diversity

Support – One of the primary missions of PFLAG Westchester is to offer a safe, confidential place that is free from judgement for family members and friends to discuss the issues and challenges they may be experiencing.   We recognize that the discussions around having a family member, friend, or other loved one who is part of, or may be part of, the LGBTQ+ community may be different for each person who attends our monthly support meeting.  We strive to give each participant the support they need to help support their friend or loved one.
